On the morning of September 16, Zhejiang Silk Association held a special-committee meeting, which joint by cocoon purchasing enterprises and related sectors. The meeting set the purchase price of autumn cocoon crops at 1100 Yuan per 50kg, up by 22 per cent.

Wang Xiaoguang, director of Zhejiang provincial coordination office of cocoon and silk, was invited to attend the meeting.

The meeting held that current silk sales kept growth while the anticipated cocoon output would increase due to increased distribution volume of silkworm seeds and normal climate.

The meeting also underscored the importance of realizing the influence affected by Yuan revaluation, silk fabric anti-dumping investigation from India and excessive price markup.

The meeting calls for all purchasing enterprises of sizing up the situation, tightening up the price policy, enhancing exchanges and coordination and maintaining the purchasing order this year.
