China:Chongqing Golden Phoenix Silk Group Wins “Double-Ten Program” Entry of Agricultural Industrialization

After the inspection of district and county governments, oral defense, evaluation of the expert panel and the examination of the municipal agricultural industrialization working group, Chongqing Golden Phoenix Silk (Group) Co., Ltd., a key national-level enterprise of Chongqing One Million Quality Silkworm Cocoon Program, was elected one of “Double-Tem Program” companies. 12 key enterprises in Chongqing won the “Double-Ten Program” entry, wherein Golden Phoenix was the only silk enterprise.

“Double-Ten Program” was an important measure adopted by the municipal government in the “11th Five-Year Plan” period to promote agricultural industrialization. By 2010, the whole city will have over 10 key enterprises with sale revenue of over RMB1 billion each. Its purpose is to promote the cultivation of key enterprises, enhance key enterprises and raise the level of agricultural industrialization in Chongqing. The key enterprises elected into the “Double-Ten Program” will receive agricultural fund from the municipal government and support from banking institutions. The municipal agricultural industrialization working group will reconfirm the key enterprises elected into “Double-Ten Program” every year and foster “Double-Ten Program” enterprises in accordance with the principle of fair competition and selection of the qualified.
