The gathering of fresh cocoons has begun since Oct. 4th in Haian County, a main cocoon production base of Jiangsu Province and well-known as the cocoon and silk hometown of China.

According to local agricultural sector, the average purchase price for fresh cocoons has hit historic high to range between 1600 yuan and 1780 yuan 50kg. Haian’s cocoon output ranks first among the province’s counties for consecutive 25 years, while ranking first in the country for consecutive 5 years.
