Recently, Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry made the final finding of anti-dumping case against Chinese silk products. Over 22 Chinese firms, including 7 from Chongqing, have been convicted of dumping silk products into Indian market, with dumping margin of 24-54 percent.

The case was filed on May 18, 2005 in connection with products exported to India at US $181 million.

India is the most important silk export market for Chongqing silk products. From January to August this year, the city's exports of silk products reached $28.57 million, India accounted for $24.79 million.

Affected by the anti-dumping case, Chongqing’s silk products exports from January to October this year reduced 16.5 percent from the same period last year.
