India:Silk reeling training concludes

IMPHAL, July 17: With the motive to make the Japan Sericulture project successful, the 15 days silk reeling training programme sponsored by Manipur Sericulture department held at Moirang Kampu Khewa Awang Leikai concluded today.
The silk reeling programme was organized by Khurai Nupi Marup. All India Trade Union Congress, Manipur general secretary L Sotinkumar Singh and Banita Devi, Superintendent, Sericulture Department attended as chief guest and president respectively at the function on the concluding day.
Speaking at the function, L Sotinkumar addressed the trainees to keep doing their activities even after the training programme and work hard for the Japan Sericulture project. He also mentioned that, the actual cost of the project is about 400 crores but however due to the prevailing law and order situation of the state only 250 crores have been sanctioned.
He also hopes that if we take the rare advantage, we could be self-sufficient in our economy as well as can compete in the world in future.
He further stated that as a part of the project, many field operational units (FOU) has been set up and planned for many more and also the shares of setting their rearing house would be released all one by one.
Adding that through this project many housewives could earn income sitting inside their house instead of working outside.
