KOLKATA: Eastern Silk Industries Ltd (ESIL) is looking at tie-ups with design houses in Europe.
The company is talking to design houses, who don't have a manufacturing base and outsource the production. It is expected that tie-up would result in close to 40 per cent growth for them, if not more.
The company is also setting up two new manufacturing plants at Karnataka with an investment of Rs 78 crore. According to sources, the plants should be operational by May next year.
Post expansion, annual capacity should go up to 18 lakh metres, from the present 14 lakh metres.
The new plants would manufacture fabric as well as made-up products.
The company is also looking at exporting to Poland, Hungary, and the rest of the East European block.
