According to the Turkish National Bureau of Statistics, the trade value of silk products in October was 176 million US dollars, rising 5.92% from the previous month and 5.54% from the same period last year. Among them, the import value was 14.935 million US dollars, increasing 3.21% month-on-month and decreasing 33.65% year-on-year; the export value was 161 million US dollars, up 6.18% on a monthly basis and 11.67% from the year earlier. The specific product composition was as follows:
Import: The amount of silk filament was 566.5 thousand US dollars, up by 40.54% month-on-month and down by 13.73% YOY, with whose quantity surging 153.95% from the previous month to 14.77 tons and dropping 10.36% from the year earlier; the amount of silk fabrics was 8.1477 million US dollars, rising 0.79% and falling 41.48% from the previous month and year respectively; The amount of silk madeups was 6.2208 million US dollars, up by 3.95% from the previous month and down by 21.55% YOY.
Export: The amount of silk filament was 16.7 thousand US dollars, a decrease of 88.7% month-on-month and a decline of 69.97% YOY, with whose quantity dropping 71.51% month-on-month to 4.48 tons and falling 58.04% YOY; the amount of silk fabrics was 57.6789 million US dollars, rising 8.56% and 30.98% from the previous month and year respectively; The amount of silk madeups was 103 million US dollars, rising 5.04% month-on-month and 3.19% YOY.
2. Silk products trade from January to October
From January to October, the trade value of Turkish silk totaled 1534 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 18.28%. Among them, the import value was 170 million US dollars, down 26.55% YOY; the export value was 1364 million US dollars, down 17.12% YOY(the same below). Details were as follows:
The composition of imported products amounted to 2.895 million US dollars of silk filament, dropping 38.26%, with whose quantity falling 35.7% to 83.53 tons; silk fabrics amounted to 89.2886 million US dollars, with a drop of 30.77%; Silk madeups amounted to 78.0361 million US dollars, declining 20.45% .
The major sources of imports were China (38.0587 million US dollars, down 27.36% , accounting for 22.36%), Korea (31.5629 million US dollars, down 36.58%, accounting for 18.54%), Georgia (25.0951 million US dollars, up 6.52% , accounting for 14.74%), Italy (21.1262 million US dollars, down 17.87% , accounting for 12.41%), Spain (5.4573 million US dollars, down 33.47%, accounting for 3.21%). The total proportion of the 5 sources above was 71.26%.
The composition of export products amounted to 291.6 thousand US dollars of silk filament, a year-on-year increase of 28%, with whose quantity jumping 9.7% to 51.7 tons; silk fabrics amounted to 449 million US dollars, up 0.4%; and silk madeups were 915 million US dollars, a decrease of 23.66% .
The major export markets were Germany (274 million US dollars, down 8.98%, accounting for 20.09%), Spain (99.9199 million US dollars, down 44.49%, accounting for 7.33%), the United Kingdom (95.7646 million US dollars, down 38.05%, accounting for 7.02%), Italy (93.2365 million US dollars, down 3.97%, accounting for 6.84%), Netherlands (73.1982 million US dollars, up 0.07%, accounting for 5.37%). The five markets above accounted for 46.65% of the total.
