Zhejiang Cathaya International Co.,Ltd (abbreviation: CATHAYA) is the ISU Chairman Unit, the Vice-chairman Unit of China Silk Association, the Vice-chairman Unit of China Mulberry Silkworm Brand Cluster and the Chairman Unit of Zhejiang Silk Association. Its predecessor was China Cocoon & Silk Corporation Zhejiang Branch established in 1950.
After 70 years’ development, CATHAYA has grown into a joint-stock enterprise that focuses on silk textile production, integrates agriculture, science, industry and trade, and involves domestic and foreign business with multivariate property rights. There are National-level Industrial Design Center, Provincial-level Industrial Design Center, Provincial-level Enterprise Technology Center, Provincial-level Enterprise Research Academy and over 70 investment companies. And also the secretariat of China Silk Standardization Committee has been set in the CATHAYA Group.
Recent years, the Group has been committing to the construction of the whole silk textile industrial chain and the mulberry silk biotechnology industrial chain by continuous management mode, innovative business mode and the stable improvement, with the vision of “Leader of Silk Industry, Creator of Quality Life” and the mission of “Promoting the Development of Silk Industry，Innovating the Connotation of Quality Life”. Now, the Group has become a leading enterprise on pure silk product exports, one of China’s Top 500 Foreign Trade Enterprises and one of China’s Top 500 Enterprises in Service Industry. Thus, it has successively designed and produced official designated silk gifts for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, 2010 Shanghai World Expo, 2nd World Internet Congress, G20 Hangzhou Summit and China's first Import Expo. Furthermore, it has successfully been on the list of licensed production enterprises of 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.
CATHAYA’s business has combined agriculture, science, industry and trade and has involved domestic and foreign trade. At present, it has formed a complete industrial supply chain integrating sericulture, silk reeling, silk weaving, printing and dyeing, clothing and other textile processing，every parts having supporting bases which are distributed in Hangzhou Huzhou, Jiaxing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Yunnan, Henan, Jiangxi, Shandong and other places. Adhering to the idea of environmental protection and sustainability, the Group has held silk textile production as its main business and has developed a green and organic whole industrial chain, realizing the controllability of the organic processes from raw material, production to sales, which can greatly guarantee the whole life cycle of its products.
As the Group’s self-created brand, CATHAYA has been on the list of the first batch of “China’s Famous Export Brands for Key Cultivation and Development” released by the Ministry of Commerce of China. And it has also been in the first batch of silk brands that were authorized to use the logo of China’s High-end Silk by China Silk Association, and it has passed the audit every year later. CATHAYA’s mulberry silk has been named China Famous Brand Product. Its raw silk, pure silk fabrics, and silk apparel have been rated as Zhejiang Famous Brand Product, Zhejiang Famous Export Brand, and Zhejiang Famous Trademark. Moreover, it was recognized as Zhejiang Well-known Firm, one of Top 50 Enterprises in Brand Value in China’s Textile and Apparel Industry, and a Leading Export Enterprise of Quality Zhejiang Goods. Meanwhile, CATHAYA’s apparel products have been awarded Zhejiang Excellent Industrial Product. And it has been chosen into the “Made in China” Brand released by the Ministry of Commerce of China.
