High-quality Raw Silk Observation and Advisory Committee Member
Shandong Fiber Quality Monitoring Center, located in Jinan and originally built in 1950, was named East China Fiber Inspection Bureau Shandong Branch at that time, belonging to the Ministry of Textile Industry. After several institutional reforms, now it is affiliated to Shandong Administration for Market Regulation, undertaking the technical and routine work of the quality monitoring of the fiber and fiber products over the whole province.
Approved by General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), National Cocoon & Silk Product Quality Inspection and Testing Center (Shandong) (Hereinafter referred to as National Cocoon & Silk Center (Shandong)) was established on the basis of Shandong Fiber Quality Monitoring Center, which was called Shandong Fiber Inspection Bureau at that time.
Since the establishment, National Cocoon & Silk Center (Shandong) has got 19 science & research achievements. Among them, it has taken part in the project of Detector Development of Reeling Cocoons and has got the first prize of Science Promotes Inspection Award given by Quality and Technology Supervision Bureau; it has led or participated in the formulation and revision of 12 standards such as “Dried Silkworm Cocoon” and “DRIED SILKWORM COCOON TESTING METHOD.”
At present, National Cocoon & Silk Center(Shandong) is in the leading position on its lab scale and the inspection technique of cocoon and raw silk products. And it has cultivated more than 90% inspection personnel for the whole country’s fiber monitoring system on the inspection and testing of cocoon and raw silk quality. Up to now, the Center has inspected over 3000 batches (65 thousand tons) of dried cocoons and over 4000 batches (2.4 thousand tons) of raw silk. The amount of its notary inspection is top in the country.
By expanding new work ideas and work modes, National Cocoon & Silk Center (Shandong) has always been actively exploring the development path of cocoon and raw silk quality monitoring work under the new situation to undertake the new missions.
