Technology Center of Nanning Customs District (formerly called as Inspection and Quarantine Technology Center of Guangxi Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, GXCIQ-TC for short), located in Liangqing District, Nanning City, Guagnxi, is a comprehensive analysis and testing research institute under Nanning Customs approved by State Commission Office of Public Sectors Reform. The center was established in October 1999, and its history can be traced back to as early as 1961, when its predecessor, the Central Laboratory of Nanning Import and Export Commodity Inspection Bureau was established.
Its business scope is mainly on three aspects: one is to provide classification, testing, inspection, quarantine, quality control and other technical support for import and export commodities; the second is to provide sampling, monitoring and technical services for local government departments; the third is to provide public welfare testing & analysis, and quality management services for enterprises, which mainly aims at silk and other products.
The center owns many qualification identification, such as China Metrology Accreditation (CMA) (more than 14000 testing parameters), China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) (more than 14000 testing parameters) and others. Moreover, it has 4 national key laboratories, including the National Key Laboratory of Raw Silk and Silk Products Testing. Meanwhile, it is a member of the National Silk Standardization Technical Committee, a director unit of the International Silk Union, a director unit of the China Silk Association, a director unit of Silk Magazine, and a vice president unit of Guangxi Silk Association. Also, it has hosted 35-odd scientific research standard-making projects at national, provincial and ministerial levels, and obtained more than 40 achievements and honors.
Founded in 1993, the National Key Laboratory of Raw Silk and Silk Products Testing is one of the early silk testing laboratories in China, which is affiliated to Nanning Customs Technical Center. The laboratory has long been committed to endorsing the quality of cocoon and silk products in Guangxi and even China, and the detection quantity of cocoon and silk products has ranked first in the country for a long time. In addition, it provides inspection, testing, classification and other technical services for silk, textiles, leather, shoes, epidemic prevention materials, etc. The laboratory has a construction area of more than 4000 square meters, over 1,000 sets of special instruments which is worth more than 30 million yuan, and 1 doctor, 4 senior titles. Its testing capacity covers nearly 2,000 items of silk, consumer goods and medical device.
The laboratory is the only silk testing laboratory in China that has won the “Top 100 Key Testing Laboratories”. And it has ever won many honors, such as “National Cocoon and Silk Industry Innovative Enterprise”, “National Advanced Unit of Silk Standardization”, etc. What’s more, it has obtained 7 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, a few municipal ones, completed 11 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, 13 municipal ones, got 7 authorized patents, 2 authorized software copyrights, developed 9 standards, and published more than 30 papers.
