Guangxi Huanjiang Yitong Cocoon and Silk Co., Ltd. (formerly named as Guangxi Cathaya Silk Co., Ltd.), founded in January 2012 with a registered capital of 20 million yuan, is a silk reeling company mainly engaged in the production of high-grade raw silk. Located in Hechi, Guangxi, the company now has 293 employees, 10 sets of automatic reeling machines and 9 sets of rereeling machines with an annual output of 300 tons of raw silk, and 1 set of automatic cocoon drying machine with an annual output of 1000 tons of fresh cocoons. It has set up cocoon collection stations in villages and towns of Huanjiang county.
In order to enhance its brand, credibility and reputation, the company built a retail department and a comprehensive exhibition center with a total area of 350 square meters in 2016; In 2017, it built a thrown silk workshop, which filled a gap in the reeling industry in Huanjiang County at that time. By integrating the production and operation of raw silk and thrown silk, the company effectively reduced its production cost and increased profit space. And also Yitong company produced the silk/spandex covered yarn in the thrown silk workshop, becoming the first in Guangxi. Meanwhile, it upgraded the wastewater treatment system of the silk reeling workshop, realizing a recycling rate of 100% of the wastewater; In 2018, the company established a demonstration base for silkworm breeding in Changmei Town to achieve a large-scale, intensive, industrialized and scientific development on the raw material. Furthermore, relying on the model of “leading enterprise + cooperative + silkworm farmer”, the company gradually expanded silk worm breeding scale, improving the output and quality of cocoons. On the existing basis, the company made full use of the scientific research and technology advantages of its headquarter Tongxiang Yitong Silk Co., Ltd. to improve products quality, and strived to build domestic and international high-quality silk brands.
